SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

In this position you will operate a school bus transporting children and passengers in a safe and timely manner. At CBS, we provide an extensive paid training program to assist you in acquiring the necessary skills to serve as a school bus driver.

Part Time

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • ​Must be able to pass a physical and lift 50 pounds

  • Pass company drug testing including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & RELATED EDUCATION OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of two years of driving experience 

  • Willingness to obtain training for comprehensive knowledge of driving safety 

  • Willingness to obtain training of Federal and State regulations and laws pertaining to the operation of school buses

  • Willingness to obtain and maintain a valid Ohio Class B CDL (note: paid training will be provided.)

  • Must possess and maintain a clean driving record, a clean police record, and must pass all required background checks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate a bus transporting passengers in a safe and timely manner

  • Execute operational and relational management duties 

  • Maintain the safety of all passengers

BUS DRIVER TRAINEE

In this position you will assist students with special needs, greet students as they board, show passengers to their assigned seats, making sure all safety measures are

taking place. As a bus driver trainee it is our goal to train you to become a school bus driver. We assist you in this process every step of the way.

FLEET TECHNICIAN

This position is to maintain and repair the company vehicle fleet.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

Full Time

  • Willingness to assist other Technicians

  • Project a professional and positive attitude towards fellow associates and customers

  • Must be able to maintain good communication lines with Supervisors, Dispatch, Drivers and Attendants.

  • Must be able to maintain good work habits with timeliness of repairs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to pass a T-8 physical and must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Must submit to and pass company drug testing including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & RELATED EDUCATION OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with minimum of two years driving experience as determined by the Ohio Pupil Transportation Operation and Safety Rules

  • Must obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Transport, Air Brake, and School Bus Driver endorsements within three months of initial starting date. 

  • Should have a minimum of two (2) years verifiable experience as a truck technician or equivalent education.

  • Must have basic knowledge and skills for arc and oxygen-acetylene welding.  Must be capable of welding the five (5) types of joints including butt, fillet, lap, corner and edge welds. 

  • Should own a basic set of mechanics tools including a Roll-a-way cabinet and top chest

  • Must be willing and able to advance diagnostic and repair skills, verified by successful completion of two (2) ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Technician or two ASE Automobile Technician certification tests (one test must be either T4 or A5, Brakes) within twelve (12) months of initial employment, and continue to remain certified through recertification testing. 

  • Possess and maintain a clean driving record, a clean police record, including passing all required background checks for working with or around school age children or special need individuals

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

This position is to maintain safe and reliable Company and customer fleets through the use of efficient labor and competitively priced materials.

  • Provide enthusiastic leadership and practice open communication with all direct reports.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • ​Must be able to pass a physical and lift 50 pounds

  • Pass company drug testing including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & RELATED EDUCATION OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with minimum of two years driving experience as determined by the Ohio Pupil Transportation Operation and Safety Rules

  • Should have a minimum of five (5) years verifiable experience of full-time employment as an automotive or truck technician. 

  • Should be an ASE certified Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician with all (6) tests which include Gasoline Engines (T1), Diesel Engines (T2), Drive Train (T3), Brakes (T4), Suspension and Steering (T5), and Electrical System (T6), or a Master Automobile Technician with all eight (8) tests which include Engine Repair (A1), Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3), Suspension and Steering (A4), Brakes (A5), Electrical Systems (A6), Heating and Air Conditioning (A7), and Engine Performance (A8), and continue to remain certified through recertification.

  • Should have verifiable experience with Allison automatic transmission repair if certified as a Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician.

VAN DRIVER

This position is to operate a van transporting passengers in a safe and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Must have Interest in helping and empathy for clients, and special needs individuals

  • Maintain good work habits through timeliness and low absenteeism for all assignment

  • Must have the ability to carry out written and oral instructions and comply with Company policies and procedures

  • Must be able to work in stressful and noisy situations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be physically able to evacuate a van in an emergency

  • Must be able to pass a T- physical and must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Must submit to and pass company drug testing including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & RELATED EDUCATION OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with minimum of two years driving experience as determined by the  Ohio Pupil Transportation Operation and Safety Rules

  • Willingness to obtain training for comprehensive knowledge of driving safety and courtesy as determined  by the Ohio Pupil Transportation Operation and Safety Rules

  • Willingness to become van certified
