ICE CREAM SOCIAL / BACK-TO-SCHOOL
AUGUST
The Ice Cream Social is an opportunity for students and their parents to meet the CBS team before the school starts for the year. Students then receive a school bus safety lesson from their bus driver while they check out their bus. The Back to School event is especially important to first time riders because it gives them the opportunity to get familiar with their driver and bus. And then comes the best part, we all get to eat ice cream!
SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK
OCTOBER
National School Bus Safety Week is an active and evolving public education program to help celebrate the incredible safety record of school bus transportation. At CBS this is also an opportunity for us to recognize our drivers for their safe driving records at a luncheon where they receive awards and safety bonuses.

Here at CBS we are family! We like to celebrate the holidays together. Whether it’s a get-together between routes, a local celebration, or a companywide party we like to do life together!
BACK-TO-SCHOOL
JANUARY
After enjoying our winter break we welcome our associates back with a luncheon. We take the opportunity to refresh our safety values with a specific focus on winter weather safety which includes safe driving and cleats. We revisit our safety drills and procedures with our students.

LOVE THE BUS
FEBRUARY
“Love The Bus” started in 2007 with an idea that the value of the yellow school bus needs to be promoted each year, so that all stakeholders – that is parents, school decision makers, and communities, need to actively show their love and appreciation for the benefits of yellow school bus service – or risk losing it. The message is clear. School districts, all too often, consider eliminating school bus service due to cost constraints. “Love The Bus” helps remind decision makers of the many benefits of yellow school bus service, and helps keep these benefits at the top of their mind so that when school bus service cuts are considered these benefits are also considered too.
At CBS we celebrate Love The Bus with events that engage drivers, student passengers, schools & communities by broadcasting this message.
OHIO SCHOOL BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION DAY

Not to be confused with School Bus Safety Week and Love The Bus which have two different messages, this event is focused on the school bus driver. Each year the first Monday in May is Ohio School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. We love our school bus drivers here at CBS! Our skilled drivers are key in keeping the students we transport safe each day. We believe they deserve the recognition for their hard work and dedication. With various activities throughout the company we make sure that our drivers know how much we love and appreciate them!
